Experience the
sights, sounds and smells of one of the oldest industries in Canada.
It’s Maple Syrup time again. A. W. Campbell Conservation Area and the
Alvinston Community Centre will be the sites of the 39th Annual Maple
Syrup Festival. Visitors to the Conservation Area will be able to
witness the First Nations method of boiling maple syrup by placing hot
stones into the cold sap. Early and Late Pioneer methods of making syrup
and demonstrations of Modern Syrup Production will also be highlighted.
The Alvinston
Firemen’s Association will be providing the traditional pancake and
sausage meals at the Alvinston Community Centre, just a 5 minute drive
from the Conservation Area. There will be a craft and toy show and maple
syrup and candy will be on sale at the Community Centre. The festival
will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 19 - 20 from 9 a.m. to 4:00
p.m. Admission to the Conservation Area is $2.00 per car.
