The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority, along with the Progress through Partnership Committee (a committee established by the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc) developed a water trail through Strathroy. A number of access points along the Sydenham River were established.

 Through the RBC Blue Water Project, funds were donated to make several improvements including easier and safer access and signage. The trail runs from the SCRCA office on Mill Pond Cr. to the Strathroy Marsh Walk Conservation Area on Victoria Street.  Downed trees and debris have been removed throughout the 3 km water trail. A brochure is planned to help promote the trail.

 Events are also being planned next year to introduce paddling as a great way to explore Strathroy. “We are looking at an annual paddle day in May to follow up on our successful event last spring and a river clean-up day in September,” Kevan Baker, Director of Conservation Areas for the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority said.  “This is a great opportunity to explore and discover our river,” Baker said.
