Highlights:

• Rainfall over the last 24 hours between 15 and 35 mm
• Additional 35 mm expected between today and tomorrow

Water levels on the Sydenham River and its tributaries are climbing as a result of significant rainfall across the region. Localized flooding is occurring in low-lying areas, including agricultural fields, parklands and floodplains. Water levels are expected to remain high over the course of the next few days.

The following road(s) are currently impacted by high water levels:

St. Clair Township:
• Pretty Road north of McCallum Line

Additional roads may be impacted this evening and into tomorrow as the region experiences further rainfall. Municipal emergency response staff and road superintendents should review emergency response plans and monitor local conditions closely.

Residents are reminded to avoid watercourses and flooded areas due to saturated and slippery banks, as well as the danger of swift moving water. Children and pets should be kept away from the water.

The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority will continue to monitor watershed conditions and will provide warnings to municipal officials and media in the event conditions develop which could result in the potential of more severe flooding.
