Highlights:
-
- 35 to 80 mm of rain received over the last week
- Watercourse levels are high but are falling steadily
- Ponding, standing water, and localized flooding can be expected in natural floodplains and low-lying areas around the watershed
Message:The St. Clair River watershed received 35-80 mm of rain over the last week. The runoff from that rain has elevated watercourses and continues to make its way through the system. Peak flows moved through the watershed yesterday – water levels are now receding. Watercourses remain high and are expected to stay elevated into this week as an additional 5 to 10 mm of rain is forecast for late Thursday into Friday.
Individuals are reminded to avoid watercourses and flooded areas due to dangerous conditions, slippery banks and cold, swift-moving water. Children and pets should be kept away from the water.
The Conservation Authority continues to monitor watershed conditions and will provide updates if any flood issues arise.
This message will remain in effect until April 10th, 2026, unless otherwise updated.
